When I heard that Nashville Pussy was coming to play at The State Theater, I contacted their tour manager Smokie, an arranged an interview. They seem to have a large following, and are known for kick ass live shows so I thought it would be great to chat with them and find out a bit about the band.

When Ruyter Suys (Lead guitar) first came on stage, the testosorone levels in the building soared. Her presence on stage has enough energy for the whole band, and she is one hot chick. Her guitar style is definitive and hard as hell. Nashville Pussy's music has Southern Rock influence with a harder edge. Singer Blain Cartwrights voice wails out tunes like High as Hell and Rock and Roll Outlaw. His guttural voice is in sync with ripping guitar chords (Ruyter Suys) strong bass lines (KatieLynn Campbell) and hard hitting drums (Jeremy Thompson).

Check out the print issue next month for an interview/article with Nashville Pussy.
Hitting the stores May 1st.

The crowd that night was huge

The opening band of the evening was Syrup. A band that describes themselves as hard southern soul, this band was really cool. They came on stage wearing glitter and rhinestone cowboy hats and clothes, and equally as colorful instruments. Their music was upbeat and had Southern pop edge. I really enjoyed them.

The headlining band was The Reverend Horton Heat. A rocking psychobilly charged band with a huge following. In combination with Syrup and Nashville Pussy this concert blew me away. If any of these bands are coming your way I highly recommend going to see them play!
