Last wednesday ( 3/27/02 ) we took off to the State Theatre to check out the new tour from the band Strife. They were playing with Poison The Well, American Nightmare, and Rise Against. We were not sure what to expect when we went to see them as they had broken up a while ago in 1998 and not many people had heard from then since. But any reservations we had were quickly shattered as the band took the stage. Rick Rodney and his crew put on a ripping performance, real tight playing, splitting vocals, and a driving beat that kept the audience alive throughout their set. These guys really can tear a place apart and the energy they give off is excellent, if you get a chance to see them on their tour, do so. If you are interested in taking a listen, some mp3's are available click me . Here are a couple of photos we took of the band.
We also got to catch a bit of the American Nightmare show, these guys seem to really have a good following and also now how to put on a great show. The singer was stomping around and pacing back and forth like a caged animal ready to explode, as the guitars ripped behind him. I thought it was kinda cool that he had on a Death In June Tshirt, not many people even know who that band is. We grabbed a couple shots of these guys as well. The crowd that night was real cool, mostly younger, engergetic and very friendly. Almost everyone wanted to get their picture taken ( well there always is at least 1 who doesn't ). Check out the scene that night. Hey Thanks Everyone!! all photos by eva dark
