TooSquare visited with Jean Macfal, the photographer and
operator of www.wildmaidens.com.
She has a bunch of work available for you to view and was kind
enough to lend TooSquare some of it for you to check out.

Here are a few words Jean sent us at TooSquare.
I Try very hard to get Ego out of the way when I am shooting.
Instead of trying to get the photo I think would look good,
I allow the energy of the subject to do the work. Often, I
have shown someone a side of themselves they did not know
was there. There is an exchange of energy and an exchange
of power going on between photographer and subject. I have
had the shoot where the energy is so bad, a candle literally
fell off the wall and hit the model in the head! However,
the majority of the time the subject and I find a place that
is alone in time and space. I prefer to shoot women because
I can tap into their energy easier.....men are much harder
to shoot! They are usually more nervous and more "guarded"
than women. There have been the few occasions however where
I have been fortunate enough to capture an example of the
male aggressive nature. As in the photo of Dhugal holding
the gun. That photo still disturbsme! It is my desire to capture
a glimpse into the essence of the person and not just simply
record another photograph of them.

"One, two, Freddy's coming for you! Three, four, better lock your door! Five, six, grab your crucifix! Seven, eight, better stay up late! Nine, ten, never sleep again!"
